Safety
Safety is our first priority, as described in Sekisui Chemical Group’s guiding principle: “No quality without safety. No productivity without safety and quality.”
Safety policy
We pursue our goals with the slogan “Creating a safe, healthy and comfortable workplace.” Our members’ safety and hygiene are fundamental our business operations. To enhance CSR management, we tackle the challenges:
- Complying the laws and regulations, and securing all employees’ safety and hygiene
- Assembling Safety Committee that leads enhancing safety and hygiene
- Promoting OHSMS and near-miss prevention activities to minimize safety risk
- Practicing “pointing and calling,” and halting operations with any doubt
- Improving equipment for safety, and training staff for the trouble-shooting
As a means of continuously encouraging accident prevention, the above policies will be periodically reviewed by a management program and improved via a Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) cycle. All workers at our facilities will be informed of these policies and will be required to comply.
President’s Safety Patrol

The president patrols both factories several times per year, and encourages operators in safety awareness.
Plant Manager’s Safety Patrol

As a means to maintaining and improving fire-fighting capabilities, teams at our Shiga and Hamamatsu factories participate in training exercises utilizing outdoor fire hydrants on a regular basis.
Fire-Fighting Exercise

Both our Shiga and Hamamatsu Plants regularly conduct outdoor fire hydrant drills to maintain and enhance their firefighting skills.
Safety Challenge Center

Each one of Sekisui Chemical Group’s facility has a safety challenge center. We train new employees here to have them motivated for safety.Senior employees also utilize the center to reinforce the awareness of safety.
Safety Challenge Center
At the center, we experience heavy weight load, and
such dangerous accidents as “sandwiched” and “caught” in a machine. We also observe the importance of
wearing a helmet by visually demonstrating the impact against head.
Improving workplace environments

Through a large-scale renovation project of the roof of our Hamamatsu factory, we
successfully cooled down the interior temperatures of the plant by 10º C.
We have also improved the workplace environments of both facilities by installing more portable AC units
and explosion-proof fans.
